Provides knowledge about building reconstruction / modernization according to the latest
requirements of normative documents. The acquisition of teamwork skills
analyzing the results of building technical state evaluation according to defects
and damage and selecting of repair /reconstruction measures. Students obtaining
the cognitive abilities of analyzing and evaluation of energy efficiency
measures, reducing heat loss. The knowledge are increased by selecting
efficient structures, drawing and reading the drawings, formed practical skills
for analytically and a computer calculations of increased loads during
reconstruction and constructing structures.

The development of sustainable buildings involves the use of a wide

services equipment. This course
will develop knowledge of how these technologies ’work’ and their
performance characteristics. Students will gain skills in evaluating the
sustainability performance of building technologies. The students will know about sustainable building construction renovation, low energy building constructions and planning solutions, energy saving measures and sustainable technologies.

This course is designed to create awareness in environmental issues in the built environment, and to explore the relationship between people, energy use and the environmental impact of buildings.
Students will be introduced to the principles and theories of sustainable and environmental design of a building to include the analysis and assessment of the environmental performance of a building design.
- Will be able to choose sustainable building engineering systems using renewable energy sources.
- Will be able to calculate and evaluate variety of low-energy buildings components (thermal bridges) also apply other planning solutions.
- Will be able to apply a variety of building sustainability and energy efficiency strategies.
